Bernal Festival, 2012

Last month Bernal had their annual fall festival, which we've been looking forward to since August.

As soon as we got there Emily asked to ride a pony, and despite her failed attempt last year we bought her a ticket. She stayed on for about 30 seconds before getting spooked. Oh well.

After her "ride" she surprised us by asking to go into the petting zoo where we spent nearly 30 minutes touching, petting, and feeding the animals. A HUGE accomplishment!

Then to make the day a complete success we tracked down a flower balloon, corn dog, and garlic fries ::: Yum-o!

 

 

 

 

 

 

As for that pony ride, there's always next year :)

Lucky Girl

No, not Emily. Although it was pretty amusing letting her carry the empty Tiffany's bag down the street. Oh the looks we got.

 

This was a belated birthday gift from the girls & Matt that I picked out over the weekend.

Pumpkin Patch

Visited the local pumpkin patch for the first time this year! Even though it was in the city and not attached to a Michigan apple orchard, it was awesome in an urban-sort-of-way. Came complete with a hayride and straw maze, which surprisingly Emily agreed to do. We'll definitely head back next year!

 

 

 

Charlie slept through most of the fun, so here she is back at home having fun with her pumpkins!

I had a birthday a few weeks back, with lots of festivities. We visited the pumpkin patch in the morning, which was a hit. Then Becky and Glenn came over to celebrate after naptime. Becky brought her homemade cupcakes, which were delicious!!!
 

Since Em wasn't on my lap to help the first time, I blew out candles twice.

That night Becky and Glenn stayed at our place so Matt and I could see a movie. Such a treat!

Spending the day with my two girls was the best birthday present of all!!!
