Mother's Day

I treated Mommy to a very special day this year. Daddy and I bought her a present: a stencil to paint my new room. (And since I'm writing this from the future, I can tell you it looks AWESOME!)

Then we took her to brunch - and I behaved very well, despite the long wait.

After brunch I took her to our favorite place to play: Holly Park!!
First we blew bubbles.

Then I went down the slide.

Next we played peek-a ...

BOO!

And I rode the swings.

Happy Mother's Day, Mama!

Bye-bye!

Big Girl

Em seems to be getting visibly bigger by the day. Well maybe not bigger (although she has grown 1.5 inches since February!), but definitely older. Doesn't she look like a little girl here?!

Illness, Part 2

Last week Emily came down with the hand/foot/mouth virus. Again. Supposedly you only get it once, but apparently there's a rogue strain going around SF enabling kids to catch it a second time. Lucky Em. Fortunately this time around wasn't nearly as bad as last time, possibly because Em's so much better at communicating with us. Last fall we were at our wits' end trying to make her comfortable, but this time she asked for popsicles, requested medicine, and demanded goldfish. Trust me, we weren't complaining - we knew how to make her comfortable. And we're pretty proud to say that no one else at daycare came down with it, which means we caught it quickly and kept her home appropriately. Now where did Em catch it? We have no idea. Perhaps the playground or swim class??

This week was MUCH better. She's still a little cranky around me, but that's probably because Mama gives out the most sympathy during an illness, as evidenced below. After a week with a sad girl, we're glad to have our Emily back!!

Family Visits

Hi guys - it's me, Emily. Sorry it's been so long, Mama and Dada claim they're really busy these days getting ready for my little *sister* to arrive so I thought I'd help out and post some pics. There are lots to share. These are from Ga-ma and Ga-pa visits. We had SO much fun!

First came Ga-ma and Ga-pa P.
We went to the ZOO!
Like my feathers?
We celebrated Ga-ma's birthday and my 18 month birthday.
"Cheese!"
Then it was Valentine's Day and Mama made me a heart-shaped barrette to wear!
Guess what?! I'm back at the ZOO!
This time with Ga-pa G!

We played catch - and since I'm better at backwards throws Ga-pa got behind me.

While posing for pictures we got a little silly.
Actually, a lot silly.
Then Ga-pa and Ga-ma P came back!
We went to the Exploratorium Museum where I learned to play the drums.

Then I got a boo-boo on my knee.
And Ga-ma G came for a visit!
We decorated my legs with stars.

Back at the ZOO!
Weeeeeee!
