Really excited
Here's an older movie from April that makes me laugh every time I watch it. This girl has a lot of energy after macaroni and cheese!

Grandma & Grandpa G's Visit
It's been a whirlwind few weeks at 115 Nevada. We had lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa G, who were visiting. However, Emily came down with something that put her usually sunny disposition into deep hibernation. Her string of sick days culminated yesterday with a trip to the after-hours clinic at the hospital because she hadn't been eating or drinking. It turns out not only did she have an ear infection, she also caught the roseola virus which explains her super high fever and red rash.
I'm happy to report that after many days of not acting like herself, Miss Emily is definitely on the mend. She's eating & drinking today and her energy level's coming back. Which means she was able to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa this morning before they flew home. Here are a few pics of the good times they had this week.

Emily had her first taste of Grandpa's pancakes, which he made in bite size pieces.
Reading books.
Showing Grandma her squeaky giraffe.
Giving Grandma a kiss!

Thanks for visiting, Grandma & Grandpa!!!

San Mateo County Fair, 2011
Last weekend Mommy and Daddy took me to the fair!
I did lots of new things there. First I tried a corndog. Turns out I like them.
Mom and Dad got a funnel cake. They wouldn't let me try any. It sure looked good though.
Next we went to see the animals. That's me in the background.
Daddy took me in for a closer look.
I saw baby chicks.
And bigger chickens.
Then we saw the tallest swings ever.
I really wanted to ride them, but I was a few inches shy of the height requirement.
So apparently Mommy and Daddy came to the fair before I was born. This is a picture of Daddy 6 years ago. He seems pretty lonely looking at the goats all by himself.

5 and counting
The teeth are showing up in droves. Almost. We now think that Emily may be part vampire - she has been known to go for Momma's neck on occasion.

6 Years
Hard to believe it's already our 6th anniversary! To celebrate, Emily insisted we visit the flower market in the morning, where she treated us to brunch and some fresh flowers.
(We had to get peonies.)
Aunt Beca offered to babysit at night, so we had dinner at Farallon which included a special treat!
As usual, we reminisced for a while about our magical wedding day six years ago. Then we talked about how far we've come: a house and a baby. But still the same us.

happy 1 year, Emily!
We can't believe that Emily's 1st birthday has arrived. It was an emotional day for us, but I'll jump past all the sentimental stuff and skip right to the fun part.
We both got out of work a little early and came home to surprise Em with a water playset. She LOVED it!
It was just the right height for tons of splashing.
It came with two sailboats which Em grabbed onto and would not let go.
Then we took some family shots (courtesy of Aunt Beca).
(Em humored us with this one. Such cornball parents.)

Emily's Birthday Presents
Since Emily's friends and family spoiled her with birthday treats, her gifts are getting a post all to themselves. (These photos occured over a series of days, since her attention span's pretty short.) Here's a small sampling of the presents Em got.
At first she peered inside.
Then she tried tearing into them.
When that didn't work, she used her teeth.
Again...
And again...
And again.
Eventually she turned to us for help.
So Matt, Becky and I took turns helping her unwrap.
After finishing, she unwound with one of her new books.
