Emily's Birthday Presents

Since Emily's friends and family spoiled her with birthday treats, her gifts are getting a post all to themselves. (These photos occured over a series of days, since her attention span's pretty short.) Here's a small sampling of the presents Em got.
At first she peered inside.
Then she tried tearing into them.
When that didn't work, she used her teeth.
Again...
And again...
And again.
Eventually she turned to us for help.
So Matt, Becky and I took turns helping her unwrap.

After finishing, she unwound with one of her new books.

Birthday BBQ Party

The weather was perfect. The guest list was jam packed. We had all the essentials for a baby girl's first birthday party.

Party favors: check.

Birthday banner: check.

A second birthday banner: check.

Fresh strawberries: check.

Pinwheels: check.

One birthday girl: check.

Our friends soon arrived.

And before we knew it, it was time to for cake. Aunt Beca baked vanilla & chocolate cupcakes FROM SCRATCH for the special occasion. She got many compliments on them. (I don't even like cake and I thought they were delicious.)

Emily made a wish and blew out her candle.

Then had her first taste of frosting and cake.

She didn't seem too impressed.

So there were left-overs.

As you can see, it was a very good day.

Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day started out playing with Emily's favorite toy, Leonard.

Then she and I opened my card...

... and unwrapped my gift. Emily gave me a picture frame made of tissue paper she'd shredded (with her dad's help). It's my first homemade gift from Em and I love it!

In the afternoon we took a stroll on the Embarcadero and showed Emily the bay bridge.

Thanks for a perfect day, Em & Matt!

Emily's 1st Easter

Emily woke up early so she and Grandpa could play with her bunny.

Emily LOVES eggs!

Dressed for church!

Emily was really into her new shoes.

Back from church and time to look for her Easter basket.

Looks like the bunny left a trail to an egg on her play table.... but no basket.

There's another egg under the coat rack... but still no basket.

A third egg is tucked in the couch cushions... but where's Emily's Easter basket??

Found it!

No Emily, you can't eat the grass.

Family pictures!

Silly times with Daddy!

Playing with lots of new toys.

Snuggling before bedtime with Aunt Beca!
