- We've taken to calling her Charlie. Emily probably does it the most, which is truly precious.
- For the past few weeks, Charlie's been going down to sleep at 8pm and waking only once before 7am for a quick feeding. And actually for the past week she's been sleeping 11 hours straight, every other night. Not sure how this pattern came about, but we're not complaining.
- She's starting to coo and gurgle, especially in the mornings. Those are some of the best sounds to wake up to.
- We have her 2 month doctor appointment next week, but I think it's safe to say she's still well above the mean for weight and length.

8 Weeks
Charlotte is 8 weeks old today. Oh how time flies. I'm typing a quick update on her progress so far, as she snoozes next to me on her playmat :)

Not something you see every day
Yesterday morning we trekked up to the top of Bernal Hill to see the space shuttle Endeavor. While it was a little windy and chilly, everyone hung in there. By the time it flew by, a large crowd had gathered! As it slowly approached from the Easy Bay, Emily was excited. It flew toward the Golden Gate bridge and banked left toward us. By the time we saw it again, it was huge and flying almost right over Bernal; as expected Emily freaked out a bit. Juggling the camera in one hand and Emily in the other, we got some neat shots of it flying by before it turned and headed down south to its final stop - LA. Very exciting!
The gals are all ready!

On Our Own
Had a successful first week alone as a family of 4. Up until last week we'd had guests every few days to help out, but Grammy and Grampy Peterson's departure left us on our own. Thankfully Emily was feeling much better, and Charlotte never came down with anything.
Here are a few things we did during this first week:
Here are a few things we did during this first week:
Mommy had her first outing alone
with both girls. And it was a HUGE success!! We grabbed brunch in the
neighborhood and then went to the library. Turns out Emily likes Amelia Bedelia
:) |
Enjoyed naptime...

Charlotte took her first BART and
MUNI rides with Mumma to walk around downtown (just realized Em has yet to
ride either one...) |

Peterson's Visit!
We were lucky enought to get another set of visitors in late August. Our daycare was closed for a week's vacation, so we asked Matt's parents if they could come and help out. Luckily they were free! As it turned out, it was a double blessing that they were here because Emily came down with a virus that hit her really hard.
Despite Em's sad state, Grammy and Grampy still managed to have lots of fun with the girls.
